Notice of Intent to File a Petition as a Local Workforce Development Area
Under the Provisions of the Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act (WIOA)

The Santee-Lynches Workforce Investment Board and the Chief Elected Officials of Clarendon, Kershaw, Lee and Sumter Counties are in the process of completing a petition to be re-designated as a workforce development area under the provisions of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act. This petition will be made to the Governor of the State of South Carolina, based on the area’s history of successful performance and sustained fiscal integrity as an existing workforce area in the State of South Carolina.

The public is invited to review the local area designation requirements at www.slworkforcedev.org and submit comments to Areatha Clark at aclark@slcog.org no later than 3:00 PM on Friday, May 1, 2015. Read the petition here.
